DIY mustache glasses 

saw these rad mustache glasses at urban outfitters, except they were sunglasses, costing $8. so i decided to make some! they are fun and make great props! i didn't spend any money making them (i always save my 3-D glasses) and the kids love rocking them, too!

 THE INSPIRATION//URBAN OUTFITTERS 

materials: 3-D glasses! tape, hemp, a sharpie, hot glue gun, scissors, and a glue stick which i totally forgot to include in this picture! Optional: small piece of black felt.

1. draw your mustache on regular white printing paper. if you need help drawing your mustache you can find mustache templates online. below i provide my favorite mustache template, which you can print. 

2. with a thicker sharpie fill it in. you can paint them if you'd like, or use black paper. 

3. i traced many, i used to mustaches per glasses. i put them back to back for a thicker mustache. 

4. cut out your mustaches! 

glue stick two mustaches back to back, i did this to have a hardier mustache. you can use thicker paper if you'd like, or you can choose to just use one paper mustache, instead of two. at this point, sharpie over any white spots you see from the backs of mustaches. cut any excess. 

tape your mustache. this is our cheap version of laminating. make sure you run your finger over the tape to eliminate any bumps or air pockets. cut away the excess tape, than sharpie over the tape, so that its a nice and bright black mustache. (tape can make it really matte)

1. cut your hemp to about one inch. you will need two one inch pieces of hemp per 3-D glasses. 

2. cut two tiny pieces of black felt, you don't want them to show over the glasses. 

3. hot glue one tip of your hemp to the bottom inside of your 3-D glasses. hot glue your dot of black felt over it for a bit more security. 

4. cut any black felt that you can see over your glasses. having black felt over the hemp will also eliminate the hemp edges rubbing against your skin, it creates a softer feeling. 

1. put your glasses on and with your finger measure how much room you need between your glasses and the mustache. make a hot glue line down your mustache and attach your hemp. 

2. attach a piece of black felt over the hemp for more security. 

3. cut off the hemp that is hanging down your mustache. 

4. ROCK THEM OUT!!!! 

DIY mini Christmas wreaths garland 

im in love with my mini wreath garland! simple to make and cute for the holidays! 

you will need red ribbon, fake/plastic Christmas tree branch, wire (preferably in green), and yarn in your color of choice. 

snip off your fake Christmas tree branch. they need to be plastic so that we can twist and bend it into a circle. 

twist and bend it to form a circle, like so ._. 

stab through your red ribbon with your wire! 

twist your wire around your mini wreath! and than.....

tie your red ribbon! 

put the yarn in between the wire and than wrap the wire around your mini wreath.. and tah dah! enjoy! xoxo 

DIY pinwheels

easy peasy pumpkin squeezy, felt pinwheels hanging from a wreath! make this cute wreath chandelier with the wreath left over after Christmas, put that little twig circle to good use! 

trace your circle with a bowl or a embroidery hoop. do this to two different colored felt, two felt circles per pinwheel. 

cut out your circles from your felt. i chose these colors because i ran out of felt, but there are so many color combinations that would look adorable for pinwheels! i seriously need to stoke up ._.

cut four slits on both of your circles. do not cut all the way to the center. than fold one corner of your pedal and hot glue in the center. 

it should look something like this once you've hot glued all four pedals. 

hot glue a button or pearl in the middle of of your pinwheel for detail ._. 

P.S. you can make mini ones and hot glue them to a short stick and stick them in cupcakes. hot glue a longer stick and use them for props at a photo-shoot, or as decorations at a party. they would even look cute as a hair accessory. have fun. xoxo

DIY button ornaments 

these adorable ornaments are extremely easy to do and require very little to make them! this would be a fun crafts with the kids around the holidays! kids love to see their work hanging on the Christmas tree! 

materials: you guessed it! buttons and clear or white ornaments! (i should have included the hot glue gun in this picture to make it more official). so take out all your buttons and get ready to put them to use! ive had these buttons for so long, glad to finally display them in a cute way! 

._. just start gluing away! 

probably the simplest DIY by far but heck! they are too cute to not throw out the idea!

DIY garland

i love garlands! they're simply adorable and an easy way to decorate...everything! they're easy and fun to do! enjoy! 

pick out your fabrics! it may be those that have been stored for what seems centuries, or those cutie fabrics you just bought at the thrift store! 

you can see that i forgot to iron my fabric first, so i ironed after i cut my flags out...guateva! the point is you want to iron at some point .-. 

i freehandedly drew out one flag, and used that one to trace out the rest, flip over your fabric and with chalk, or pen trace them! if you're a beast than you can just cut away! 

cut as many as you'd like..i cut out a lot because I made a couple of garlands..some to sell and some to decorate! 

i sewed the top of my flags with white yarn and a yarn needle. i love the look of stitches, but if you'd like, you can just hot glue yarn on top, or just connect the tip corners of the flags! many ways of doing this, do what you think is cutest!

i stamped red fox on one of my flags with stamp letters! get creative! you can sew on embroidery stuff, lace, you can paint on your flags..the list goes on! play!

Thrift Haul! 

i scored a butt load of things, all around ten monies! my favorite thing was this old telephone, doesn't work at all but it's going to look mighty cute in my apartment!i  also love my owl plate, i had to paint on his left eye, which explains why he's looking in two different directions, but hey, i think it was a good save! about my "TEA with honey" mug, i might have to drink coffee out of it just to feel rebellious. 

the green, with yellow flowers photo, is actually a plate. its adorable, and i am going to serve cookies and cupcakes on it ._. (notice my tone of pride?). my mugs, and my soup bowls which i adore! ill be obedient and actually eat soup out of it. 

DIY mushroom

i know this is totally random, but thats what i love about mushrooms, they're cute and random and weird and some, even dangerous....thug life ._. very easy! enjoy!

all you will need to make these adorable mushrooms is a thin marker, this will act as your stamp to make the white dots on your mushroom tops. paint in white, red, and brown. and a cork with a top. you can hot glue any top on your cork if you don't have something similar. 

paint the corks brown, this is the stem of your mushroom. i suggest letting them completely dry before moving on.

you guessed it! paint the tops red! Let those guys fully dry as well, you don't want your dots to be light pink! and you don't want red paint all over your hands!

dip your thin marker into your paint and stamp your mushrooms! if you have trouble, just grab a very thin brush and smooth out the edges..if your white is too transparent, wait til' they dry and go for a second coat.


hope you enjoyed this mini DIY! you can add "grass" by folding a short piece of green yarn and hot gluing it to the bottom of your stem! i hot glued one of my mushrooms on top of my dreamcatcher! get creative with these little guys! enjoy! xoxo
